Part of the exemption for children is that they are taken by their parents as young children and then leave when they become an adult. The assumption is that it was not your decision, it was your parents and you had no part of the illegal act. You don't say exactly what happened, but the loop-hole doesn't cover people who are in the US for other reasons but still a minor.
