Gender Studies: What do think of this comment?

Those comments are naive or agenda driven. There have been subsequent studies which confirmed that women are as likely to initiate domestic violence as men. I've personally witnessed women hitting men numerous times in public (and never the other way around). Nothing happened to the women, and it was ignored by the people around them. Only a buffoon would pretend that it doesn't happen, and that it isn't a problem. Women go to the police, who believe them and do something about it. Men don't have that option so they go to the bar.
