Is the romance in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins like Twilight?

I was assigned it for summer reading, but I finished it in a day. Basically, the book has this Most Dangerous Game kind of feel to it, and the romance is just tolerable. There isn't much involving Gale after Katniss reaches the Capitol. It's mostly her and Peeta, and only in small increments that only slow the story down a bit. Still, every now and then there's a passage that seems to be there just to make girls my age excited.
