What can I do if an item I bought of ebay becomes faulty ?

It's not a serious fault, and it clearly is not our fault its a yahama electric piano its about 9 months since we bought it and the pedal has started making a clicking noise which can really disrupt the quality of the playing.. What can we do about this and what are our rights? The item was bought as new.
